Turning Pages
Impatient
or anxious
or giddy
like a child
I grab my days
one by one
(or by the fistful)
and rush them by
To see what’s next
or how much
or who’s there
or when
Like a child
a spoiled child
I skim the pages
in a rush
Or at least I did, but no more
For now
I have learned
to read...
He taught me!
To read
or listen
like a warrior
like a poet
One page (one moment)
at a time
day by day
He reads to me
Like a reborn child
I see His wink
then reach with faith
to turn the page
And the adventure continues.
